Lucy and Helen came over and we had fun in the park!

We decorated cupcakes!
Lucy fed the ducks and made a friend!

We walked out to Grantchester with our friend David and were happy to find the cows back!
In the allotment, yellow buckets covered the cabbages, protecting them from frosty mornings.
The apple trees are beginning to bloom.
We walked down Mills Road and saw colorful curry houses, sheesa rooms, and internet cafes.
Around the corner we walked past the house that Jan and Kevin shared in the 1960s.
We found Cow Parsley in bloom.
We walked around Lech Hampton on Corpus Christi grounds behind Wolfson.
We saw an ancient tree next to a statue by Henry Moore.
And walked through a beautiful meadow
With fritillary blooming.
We went to London and from the train saw Rape in bloom
We traveled over to Dalston
and walked around a colorful, noisy market.
Our destination--the Arcola Theatre, interesting and bohemian with cheap tickets. We saw "A Warsaw Melody," the bittersweet story of a twenty year love affair between a Polish singer and Russian wine maker behind the Iron Curtain when harsh laws made it impossible for the two to marry. The woman (Emily Tucker) was excellent, graceful with a lovely voice--she looked and sounded Polish. The man seemed more British than Russian and not so believable. There is no stage, only a wide room which was smoky and atmospheric. We sat next to the actors who moved the sets and props around as they acted.
Afterwards we traveled on the overland train, then the Victoria Line to Oxford Circus. We walked down to Lexington Street where we had reservations for an excellent candlelit dinner and wine at Andrew Edmunds, cozy with friendly staff. Then home again in time for the latest Scandanavian thriller, "The Bridge."
