Punting Picnic 2012

We enjoyed a big Punting Picnic on 6 June with Helen, Jim, Lucy, Matthew, Chantal, Beatrice, Polly, Richard, Lynn, Dorothy, Rebecca, Rachel, Stephanie, Sophie, Jonathan, and JoJo! 

The weather was a bit dicey so we voted on whether to PUNT or use the Combination Room here at Wolfson. The PUNTS won!

So here we are kitted and supplied for our Big Adventure on the Cam!

The Drury Family is missing, maybe unpacking their car.

We walked with our heavy bags to Scudamores where Kevin and Richard arranged for three punts with six people in each and we loaded up.

Our punters Stephani, Richard, and Kevin--we were a little worried, and it appears that Lynn is also, as our Richard is from The Other Place and punts from a different end of the boat.

And there was a dangerous sluice with strong currents!

But our punters prevailed

And when one pole was lost it was recovered by Matthew!

We chose our spot and parked our punts.

And enjoyed  our picnic--the menu below is only a sampling as everyone brought something special and delicious and we had a Feast!

Variety of Caramel Squares and other sweets 

Jelly and Cream 

Apple Juice, Sparkling Elderflower, Spritzer, Beer, Wine, Tea, and Coffee 

 Good Times from Trevs remembered

And good times had!

 

We punted back slowly--others trying their skill at punting.

 Checked in with Scudamores,

 And walked back to Morrison House,

Where we had tea and quiet time. A Memorable Day!
