We arrived at the Big House and met people fixing up the place for a wedding.
The Bride!
We met Story, another camper who was staying at the Farm also. We checked into the green room and had a nice evening at the Farm.
The next morning I got up early and took Kevin to the Asheville airport to go to Vermont and also picked up Heather who flew in from Halifax. We went back to farm and had a nice afternoon there.
On Monday the first day of camp, we all woke up early, enjoyed fresh farm eggs for breakfast, and made sandwiches for camp lunches. Then off to Susie's house.

Camp begins every morning with favorite camp songs. Susie often plays the guitar. Counselors and campers help lead.

Wyatt and fellow camper Story with Lady

After singing, campers get into their groups. This week there were six groups-- The Belgians, the Hanoverians, the Exmoor Ponies, the Arabians, the Percherons, and the Quarter Horses.
During the day, three groups go with Annie in Old Rusty to the barn to ride horses, play in the creek, cook S'mores, go on treasure hunts, tour the Big House, and all kind of interesting things. The other three groups stay at Susie's House where the campers take pottery, art, and drama. Heather and I stayed at Susie's house where we were doing art classes so we didn't get to the barn.

Meanwhile at Susie's house, campers went to Pottery!

And had fun
Making beautiful objects like this bowl by Wyatt.
In Art, the campers made flipbooks with help from Heather.
Campers like these Belgians watched films
that showed animation techniques.
And, they made their own film by drawing on clear leader.
Campers invited all the parents and guests
to the film premiere on the last day of camp.
The campers also made beautiful photograms
like this one by Wyatt.
We displayed them all around Susie's porch.
Campers had great fun with Luke and Candace in Drama!
They produced skits for the parents and guests on Friday pm.

Campers made delicious bread and cinnamon rolls
to take home on Friday afternoon.
Campers bring their lunch and
then have free time to play on the trampoline
This is a game where the counselor jumps as high as he can
and the camper then gets a big bounce!
Campers can also swim during lunch.
The boys change in the teepee.

It was very hot so the pool felt very good!
In addition to all the fun things, there were always animals around
--baby chickens, kittens, dogs, and a big goose!
