Christmas in the Big Apple 2015

I cancelled Christmas this year--we had too much to do to get off to UK so Brett and Jake asked us to NYC and what a blast we had!

Here are the Christmas decorations at 1432 Medway Road.

First night in NYC, dining out with the best guide to the city!

And here we are at Jake's and Brett's West End Apartment on Christmas Eve!

The guys watching television. Wyatt has his back to us. Francis Pop is on the floor and that is Ivan, Wyatt's friend on Pop's left

Brett made lentil soup and our delicious vegan Christmas Feast, Helen's favorite recipe--roasted vegetables with couscous on bottom and salad on top. Much fun was had by all!

Paul and Poppy and Wyatt and Kevin and I stayed down at Gramercy Park in Louise's lovely flat. The boys slept in the large master bedroom. They remembered it from the past when the floor was covered with a huge Lego creation.

Presents were laid out and stockings were hung that night and the Night Before Christmas was read by Kevin.

On Christmas morning, we waited for Brett and Jake to come down. Look how the gadgets entertain the boys. A few years ago they would have been so excited and jumping up and down like little banshees!

Jake and Brett brought bagels, nova salmon, and delicious cinnamon buns--a very good and easy breakfast.

Then we had the best time opening gifts!

Christmas Photo of our Grandboys!

Maybe a little better from this one in 2012!

From Rosie!

Afterwards we made our way over to Brooklyn (Paul and I are in the window's reflection) where we visited Kim and Doug and his family who were visiting. Wayne and Charmi were there and we had a great time. We walked down to park and had a magnificent view of Manhattan. Sorry I didn't take photos.

Breakfast on the 26th!

Traveling around NYC

Walking around the city!

Going to "The Illuminators," a great Magic Show on Broadway!

Shopping

Times Square!

A sobering visit to the Trade Center Memorial

Brett rented a big car and we all drove out to a suburb known for their Christmas Decorations. It was a warm and balmy evening and we walked around with others gawking at the magnificent displays.

And then a good dinner at a local Italian restaurant with huge queues. Thankfully Brett had made reservations. Here is Ivan with Brett

And a nice rendezvous with friends at Katz's Deli.

Christmas in the Big Apple!
