Christmas 2012

Christmas began on 23 December when both Wyatt and Francis POP arrived at 1432 Medway Road. Our animal friends were all waiting at the Hello/ Good Bye window. We had the living room arranged for a special event--a Recital starring Wyatt and Francis, Lilly and Zachery, and Victor.

We held it on Christmas Eve.

Francis played a lovely original piece called "Bouncing Grasshopper."

And Wyatt told a nice story, Emeralds.

A rapt audience!

Francis took some nice photographs. You can almost see the lovely tea table, prepared in part by Lilly. We had delicious Christmas cakes and cookies, an assortment of sandwiches, cheese cookies, and other goodies. We had tea, hot cider, hot chocolate, and wine to drink.

Later that night, we checked out all the gifts, hollered up the chimney, wrote notes to and left snacks for Santa, and listened to Hockey Ga read "The Night Before Christmas."

Here Paul is reading Helen's story, "Bald Expectations" to POP!

Christmas Day 2012!

 Christmas Portrait 2012!

Our boys had so much fun playing together. Great basketball games, making airplanes, treehouse picnics. Paul and Poppy did a treehouse overnight on a very rainy night!

Alas, Paul returned to Pasadena and Wyatt and family returned to return to NYC. Hockey Ga and Poppy and I went to the farm where we saw pigs and goats and chickens.
The Big House was decorated for Christmas!

Poppy performed "The Bouncing Grasshopper" in the Music Room.

He enjoyed playing on the Dumbwaiter with Cousin Anne Hamilton.

He helped Cousin John stoke up the fire.

And we had a delicious meal with cousins.

The next day, Cousin Charlie Clark took Poppy riding at Annie's Barn.

The drive home was beautiful.

The next day Francis and I flew back to Pasadena. We all went out to neighborhood Indian restaurant.

On New Year's Eve, Paul, Poppy, went downtown Pasadena and saw the floats for the Rose Bowl being built and people were claiming their seats for next days Rose Bowl.
The South Pasadena Float!

On New Years Eve, Paul and Poppy built a lovely fire outside. We had sparklers and a delicious noodle soup prepared by Lecie.

I returned to Kevin and Columbia 2 January.
